“So what’s so special about the crystals in this cave anyway? They don’t look like anything much…” Padawan Anakin Skywalker grumbled for the fifth time as his eyes glazed over the crystals that stuck out of the cave walls. They didn’t look any different then other crystals found on other planets as they’re green, blue and purple light refracted through out, making a kaleidoscope effect.

The 15 year old Padawans were on their traditional rite of passage to the planet of Krypton to pick out the jewel that would then power their first lightsabers and mark their transition from junior to senior padawan and able to finally go on missions with their masters.

Padawan Kevin Richardson rolled his eyes in disgust at Anakin’s insisting of repeating the same questions. “I’m sure your master explained to you how Kryptonite is the only crystal able to sustain enough energy to form a lightsaber blade.” Exasperated, he turned back to examining the crystals, looking for the one that the Force would point out to him as the one to choose.

Behind his back, Anakin was sarcastically mimicking the other Padawan. The Padawans had been paired off to search the caves for their lightsaber crystals as their masters waited outside. Anakin was sure Obi-Wan was laughing at having paired him with the most studious and serious Padawan in his age year. He would never again question if his master had a sense of humor, as this proved it.

Sighing, Anakin went back to searching through the crystals, but kept one eye trained on the other Padawan. Kevin had dark, black hair, that made his padawan braid stand out on his tunics like nighttime against the Tattooine sand dunes. His blue eyes reflected back the light of the crystals, making them glow in the hard lines of the serious face.

“You’re staring.” Anakin started at the smooth voice that broke the silence as the other Padawan didn’t even look in his direction but reached up to stroke his jaw as he inspected a rather odd looking purple crystal.

“What?” he retorted harshly, embarrassed at getting caught and went to examine a round green one.

Kevin turned, one dark eyebrow rising in an amused expression. “I do believe you are staring me. Are the crystals really that boring?”

I'll explain later!

Explanation Later: The lovely Lindsey and I got together tonight and decided to we would go to Blockbuster and rent a slashy movie. Well, we ended up with Elf. So, instead, we wipped out our laptops and were determined to each come up with a slashy story by the end of the movie. But of course, there was a twist. We each gave three fandoms for the other to choose characters (from two) and an object (from the third) from.

As fandoms, Lindsey gave me Harry Potter, Batman and Lord of the Rings. As a prompt, I gave her Draco, Robin and a bow and arrow.
As fandoms, I gave Lindsey Star Wars, Backstreet Boys and Smallville. As a prompt, she gave me Kevin, Anakin and kryptonite.

Well, I got about 3/4 of a page written of a short smut and Lindsey had about half a plot outline, which we thought was fairly productive considering we both got caught up in the movie quite a bit (and it was on VHS *gasp!*).

I have no idea if I'm going to finish or not but I will certainly try.

This is of course in the spirit of this bit of craziness from last year that we would like to repeat. Girls? Shall we? When ya'll free?
