I just sent an e-mail to the Academic Advisor for the art department to talk about switching totally out of Animal Science and into the art program. I just, I did everything all my professors said to do and I still keep failing my Anantomy tests. I just made the decision that I don't think right now this is the major for me. I've always loved Graphic Design so that was my next choice of major and I think this is good.

So, if this is a good thing, why do I feel sick to my stomach and on the verge of tears...?

well, this may just be me (see recent post) but i think it's because you've had your heart set on a particular major for a long time, so it seems really weird (maybe even a little traitorous) to change majors this late in the game.

Maybe...that's right, you just switched didn't you? *snugs* It's just...weird and scary scraping every plan I ever held in my life, but I am tired of failing. I deserve to do something I enjoy and am good at and I have three years at Oakton to prove both for Graphic Design....

I'm just scared right *wibbles*

*hugs* You're going to be fine, hon. It's the right of every college student to change her major umpteen hundred times and try lots of things. I was an English major when I started, then a Psych major and a Phil major and an English major again and a Phil again and...well you get the picture. It's okay to change. Really.

Changing your major is a huge step, and it's natural to have anxiety. Heck, electrical and computer engineering are one department with two majors and a lot of the same classes, and switching from computer to electrical made me want to go puke. Just try to relax as much as possible and make the decision after thinking about it for a day or two. And then if you think it's the right thing, go for it. You have to do what's right for you.

Aw sweetie *snuggles* Try not to be too down on yourself. The great thing about US universities is that you can change your major, and it's better to be thinking about changing directions now rather than once you've already graduated.

I'm here for you, regardless of what you decide *snuggles*
