Here's another done for
pirates500 for this weeks challenge of Wind. Okay, so it doesn't really have anything to do with Wind itself, but this what I thought of...Written in English whilst Mr. Ketch was droning on about 1984
Twas Only The Wind
She followed him, though she didn’t quite know why. She had to admit, she was curious on why he had insisted to be let into the cabin where the pirate was being held. Insisted on being alone, tried to pick a time when she wouldn’t notice he was gone. She had seen a bond growing between the two, one that almost loved like love, but no…not between him and the pirate, never. They had both gone to visit him yesterday, despite the protests of the Commodore, but they owed the pirate that much. But why he had to go alone, unnoticed, she didn’t understand…nor want to understand.
She stood outside the door, ignoring the guards on either side. She was afraid of what she was going to find on the other side, afraid of being discovered but yet she was dying until she found the answer. Slowly she opened the door, her breath caught in her throat.
She only opened it a crack, only enough for one eye to peek inside. But one eye was enough for her heart jumped to join her breath in her throat.
Bound hands encircled wavy brown curls as his head lay on the pirate’s chest. They lay on the floor in a patch of sunlight, woven together as two matching pieces of a puzzle, only meant to fit the other. It was a heart breaking scene, a heartbroken, young man lying on the chest of his condemned love, for love filled the entire room, even she could sense it. It was appropriately silent in the room to match the mood. Finally she couldn’t take it anymore. With a hushed sob, she softly shut the door so as not to disturb the scene within. Trying to contain her rush of emotion, she quickly retreated from the door, back to the deck and the sun. In her emotions, she felt happiness that two who were dear to her had found such a bond and surprising, she felt no anger but only sadness, sadness that she could not share in that bond of love and sadness that upon their return to Port Royale, the two lovers would be split forever. It was more then she could bare and she broke down in sobs.

Will lifted his head slightly from Jack’s warm chest, his eyes and ears trained on the door. “Jack, did you hear something?”
Without moving his bound hand from around Will’s neck, Jack prevented the younger man from moving. His experienced ears had easily picked up and identified the soft footsteps and strangled sobs. Elizabeth…poor lass… Not wanting to worry Will, he decided not to tell him. They could deal with their relationship later, when he was gone. Right now, Jack wanted time with his young love. With a sad smile that extended to his voice, Jack whispered softly as the young man nestled back into his chest, Jack’s fingers playing lightly with the soft brown curls.
“Nay love, twas only the wind…”
