Aug. 12th, 2003 12:36 pmWell, as Devorah and Corianne now know, I'm home now and not at ASP like I'm supposed to. You see, we had a great Monday (even though Mr. Scheafer's truck broke down) and the other church we were with was great. But then, that night, we got a call saying that my father had fallen down the stairs and was having surgery the next morning. Neddless to say, my mother and myself were on the road within the hour (whihc was 8 pm) after making sure there would be enough seats for everyone to get home at the end of the week.
It was my job to keep my mother awake on the 5 and a half hour drive and let's just say that I ramble silliness when extremely tried. Talking with your mother about flavored condoms at 11:30 at night while both of you are giggling is very interesting ("Hmm...have a problem I see? There's your hand, there's the bathroom, have fun!"). Three diet cokes, a pack of Snowballs and a Three Musketeers Bar later, we were home.
My dad's in surgery at Fair Oaks as we speak. He broke his leg in two place, one at the ankle and one along the lower leg. According to mother who went and visited this morning, the bones aren't even touching, that's how broken it is. And it's going to be months untill he will be able to walk again. It's going to be hard but we will make it.
I only worry about my mother really. Dad was always the strong silent one, the rock of our family. Nothing even happens to him. I've spent more time in the hospital in my short life time then he has. It's really shaking her up, especailly since mom is still taking care of Apo's estate and going through so much crap with that. *sighs* I'm the youngest person in this family, yet right now, I feel like I have to be the strong and I know I have to. Yesterday at this time, I was dreading almost turning 18, but now I'm glad I'm this age so I can help my mother now when she needs it. As much as I love acting like a child, I have to grow up now.
I also need to mention that I am NEVER going to the Guynan Valley ASP center ever again! That's where we were two years ago, when we came home from ASP and Basel died two days later. And that's where we were this year and Dad breaks his leg, ironicallt going downstairs to let Sam out to pee. Never going back, NEVER!
*check E-mail* Hmm...seems as though I'm now adding Jack to my list of current RPG characters. I don't know if the other boys are going to be able to handle this...
