Jul. 11th, 2003 11:59 amYey! Home from Amsterdam which was majorly fun! Very quaint city, as city's go, though a bit obcessed with thier canals (If I hear about reclaimed land one more time, I think I'll scream). EVERYBODY smokes which it the same everywhere in Europe, but the marijuana wasn't as wide spread as books make you believe, though you could buy smoking supplies everywhere. And the Red Light District was very entertaining, though my mother kept wanting to leave (I thought it was extremely funny, she though I was crazy). Must go back there when I'm older ;)
Here are the highlights:
--large flower auction, which was a warehouse about five times the size of Oakton full of fresh flowers. Smelled heavenly!
--windmills and cheese...enough said
--carnival in Dam Square, which was right outisde our hotel
--large Indian type diner which was very yummy!
--doubled my total beer intake ever (discovered I love Heineken)
--Heineken Experience, a tour ofhow they make beer and stuff...and got three free beers (I only had two...)
--Delft pottery, you know the pretty blue and white pottery you see?
--saw how they make the wooden shoes...by machine
--Shopping...the shopping was fantastic! All the stores were random type stores...kind of like Hot Topic minus the goth
And that's all I can think of right at the moment. It was fun! And I wrote three Power Ranger drabbles on the plane home which I will post later...Plus loving Sugar Ray's new CD, listened to it over and over on the plance. (I had a dream about Eric and Wes in a club dancing together! to Hey Mr. Bartender. Hot!)
Have to go to work at 3...*sighs*
